Backyard Boys

Recently, we had some friends over for some good food and fun......and a little tractor repair:). Thanks Wade!

The girls and the babies were sitting out in the grass off of the back porch visiting while the guys did their thing. Of course, I couldn't resist grabbing my camera and snapping a few of the cute little guys.

Meet Aaron. He is officially 1! This precious boy is so fun and always on the move. I love to see how he is going to react to new places because he is the kind of kiddo that likes to take everything in. His eyes bounce around the room from person to person watching and waiting. And he adores KK.

Meet Will. Aren't his brown eyes striking? This little one is such a sweet boy. He is so loving and is at his happiest when he is curled up into the arms of his mommy or daddy. See, I told you he was pretty sweet!

Well, there you have it.

I typically shoot mostly weddings, brides, and engagements. Sometimes the thought of family portraits and kiddos kind of intimidates me a bit. I don't know why. I guess it is because children are a little unpredictable. I know this because I'm a mother of two little girls- and unpredictable 3 year old and an unpredictable 5 month old.

But, I'm learning that it is in the unpredictable moments that you learn and grow the most. So bring it on. I'm totally up for it.

Hi Lyns, I've been popping by your blog lately after finding it through Shauna's. When I read this post i giggled, because I love to shoot kids (with camera of course) especially my 2 year old daughter, but am totally intimidated by weddings. Here's my site www.enstallphotography.com and my daughter's blog blog.sososphia.com

I havent' got a blog up for the photos yet, as I'm transitioning out of a personal training career, but I'll be here soon.

Hi Julie,
Thanks for stopping by. That is so neat how we all have our passions in photography. I checked out your site and love the photos of all of the kids and babies.

Right after I posted this I had a family of 4 give me a call and want me to shoot their family on Saturday (5 year old girl, 1 year old boy). I can't wait because I haven't done a family photo shoot in a while. Mostly weddings, engagements, and brides! Bring it on!

Shauna stinkin' rocks. She was my roommate in college and has been a solid rock in this journey of mine in photography. She inspires & encourages me daily.

Have a good one!

Hey Sarah,
You are so funny and sweet!

I make the images in photoshop. I find a background that I like (I use dreamtime.com) and buy the image. It is pretty inexpensive.

Then I put in photoshop and add text to it and whatever else I want. Save it as a jpg and then voila!

Do you have photoshop?

Let me know if you have any more questions!
